Being a stay at home Mom I appreciate this!!

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door . He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she may be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world did I do today?" "Yes," was his incredulous reply. She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

Mouse

There's a mouse in the house
I heard him squeaking
I hadn't seen him yet
and, I swear, I wasn't peeking!
I bought four traps,
Could there be MORE?
I heard they come in herds.
But Austin begged me not to set them
(I believe we’ll have some words!)
Last night, while sleeping
I could hear some squeeking
Is that a mouse I asked myself
Bold as you please, right there in my closet he'd be
It could be just him
Or a whole regiment!
What I’d like to know is
Should I charge them rent?!

Hunter

Hunter having a little fun on his 4 wheeler now that it has dried up a bit. Logan was out there on his but then it died so not sure if we just didn't get it winterized right or what.

Great Weekend

Scott and all the boys jumpin

Shell and Austin

This is what I woke up to Sunday morning. Pretty cool to have 5 deer right in your front yard!!
Berfore heading out the door to go to church. Yes Hunter was crying right before picture cause he got in trouble.
Love this pic
Sunday afternoon isn't this amazing?

What a great weekend we had. Friday was my birthday and Sean got me a treadmill so I was really excited about that. He gave me the choice of a treadmill or a new computer. I know some of you reading this are probably thinking I am crazy for choosing that but you know summer is right around the corner. Plus Rachelle and Scott are getting married in Hawaii and I want to look good for when that comes around. Saturday I took the kids to an Easter egg hunt here at the Swiftel Center. Like the kids really needed more candy but they had fun. The boys got a new play station game so I think that consumed most of their Saturday. Sunday we went to church and then to Mom's for a ham dinner which let me add was amazing!! Last night Rachelle and Scott came over to grill and to hang out. The kids had a great time having them over. Austin even convinced them they needed to jump on the tramp with him :)

Am I really getting that old??

Here I am at 3
At 4
I believe I was 10 here. Look I am even wearing one of my pretty dresses from Grandma!!

Okay seriously tomorrow is my birthday and I am not excited. Honestly this makes me quite sad. All the other years I was excited for about a week before it even got here. Is this truly what birthdays are like the older you get?? Sean and Mom have both asked me what I want and I truly don't have answers for them. Sean had some great ideas but both are spendy I feel guilty if I say yeah I really want that. I guess when it comes down to it I guess it is just a fact of life and tomorrow will be just another day and I will be one year older. Not like back when (wow saying that really dates me) Grandma Morrison would send me a dress every year for my birthday. Mom would always let me open one gift that morning of my birthday and I would always open Grandma Morrisons so I could wear that pretty dress to school. How about the birthday that I wanted everything chocolate and I ate an entire bag of chocolate and got the hives from it.

Grace had her first dance practice tonight. That was so much fun to watch her interact with other little girls. I really wish I would of brought my camera that's something I will for sure have to do next week. She really seemed to enjoy it and so did I.

The older two boys had dry land hockey practice tonight. The team all showed up with roller blades in hand and they skated to the Swiftel parking lot. I was a little nervous at first with all these active wild boys on blades. Grace and I sat and watched the practice and it looked like they were having a blast.

Austin went with Dad to the Pheasants forever banquet. Sean text me that Austins favorite artist John Green was there. So just like last weekend he sat and watched him paint 90% of the night. He is for sure my little artist and takes after my Mom and my brother John. I can't wait to hear what Austin has to say about his evening.

Prayers have been answered

I just wanted to give a quick update on Staysha. The last 12 hours have been remarkable! They took the breathing tube out yesterday at 4:30 and by 5:15 she was back in her room starting to come to. They were not expecting her to start doing all the stuff that she has been doing already. We all know how strong and stubborn she is though and all the prayers have helped...I am sure of it!!! They took the NG tube out of her nose (that pumped her stomach acids out), her cath is out and also her art line is out. She wants to eat, but cannot until they take her for a CT scan (scheduled for 2:30 today). They want to see with the CT scan that her lung is healing properly and everything else looks good. She is sad right now, but that is b/c she is tired of being here and I am sure this has been overwhelming for her. She doesn't understand why she missed out on so many days. I am sure with time she will understand a little better. I think we are looking at another 4 to7 days here, but every day will tell us for sure. Thanks to you all for all the thoughts and prayers...this just proves the power of prayer!!! I will keep you posted.

Prayers for Staysha

Below is what I received from Tara and I want to share this with all of you. Staysha is such a precious little girl. She could use all the prayers in the world right now. I encourage people to comment so I can pass this on to the family. THANKS
We took Staysha to the ER in Brookings on Sunday, March 9th b/c we were pretty sure that she had Influenza beings as my step-daughter had it a week prior. Sure enough she tested positive for Influenza B ( the worst kind). We went home to rest and at 2am Monday morning, she spiked a temp of 105.7...so we brought her to the Sanford hospital in SF. She was having a tough time breathing so they put her on oxygen right away and also got an IV started. She was transferred from the ER to her room within a few hours and by 3pm Monday, she was in the PICU. They felt that she needed to be closely monitored b/c of her breathing. She spent the rest of Monday and all of Tuesday in there and then they moved her out to the regular peds floor on Wednesday. They did take the oxygen off of her thinking that she was getting better with the neb treatments. That didn't last long...she kept having panic attacks. So the oxygen went back on. She was only in that room until Thursday afternoon and then they moved her over to another wing on the peds floor so she could be on a central monitor that the nurses watch constantly. Thursday night was especially bad...she was up every half hour going to the bathroom and continued to have panic attacks b/c she could not breath. She kept telling me that she was going to die. That was extremely hard to hear! Friday morning they took her down to the OR to do a bronchoscopy on her. That is where they stick a camera down her throat to see if they can find the problem. They worked on her for a little over an hour and came back and said that there was a bunch of mucus like junk in her trachea. It was blocking her airway and that was what was causing her to have the panic attacks. There was only a hole the size of a pea to breath through. No wonder she thought that she was dying....she felt like she was suffocating!!! They did inabate her ( put a breathing tube down her throat) and she is paralyzed right now. They want to keep her that way so she doesn't move and it gives her a chance to heal a little. Friday and Saturday were as normal as they possibly could be and then on Sunday her right lung collapsed. There was a cyst like pocket that burst and that is what caused her lung to do that. So she now has a chest tube in her as well. Today will determine what happens from here. They will go in and do another bronch on her to see how everything looks. We will then find out when they plan on bringing her off the breathing machine. So please pray for her b/c I can't go home without her!!!

Fun Weekend

Look at my new print my hubby got me at the Whitetails Banquet. I wanted this print so bad to put in our room.
Look at these two cuties. Took this before they went out shed hunting with Dad. Logan I believe was already down by the river.
Look what we found in our trees. Have to wait for another nice day so Grace and I can go with them. The boys had so much fun looking for these.
