ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME

Areas of rain are developing this morning and will continue to move north from Nebraska through the morning. Highs will be in the 30s for the day with strong northeast winds developing through the day at 20-40mph. Snow will be likely in western SD, with a transition to snow across eastern SD late this afternoon and this evening. A band of 6-12” will be likely for Mitchell, Winner, Pierre, Aberdeen, Watertown, and Brookings. Sioux Falls and Yankton will see more rain with amounts of 3-7”, with even less in Iowa with rain more favored in those areas. Obviously, with a blizzard warning in effect, travel will become nearly impossible in many areas with this storm. Sioux Falls will be very close to the heavy snow band, but may miss the worst of it. Areas of blowing snow will continue tomorrow, so travel will be difficult as well. The good news is next week is still looking very mild with highs in the 50s and 60s.
